History

Professional Search, Inc. Int’l. was incorporated in 1979 by the current President and Sr. Executive Recruiter, Sandra B. McCartt. Sandra started her recruiting career with a local employment agency in 1975. After several years of learning the industry, Ms. McCartt felt that there was a more professional approach to recruiting. With two partners she opened the Professional Search offices in the Texas Commerce Bank, where the firm expanded from an Oil and Gas specialized firm to a full generalist, recruiting , outplacement and corporate image consulting firm. Ms. McCartt bought out both partners in the early 80’s to become majority stock holder/ owner and president of the corporation. The corporate offices were moved to the current location at 2414-2 Lakeview Drive, Suite 2 in 2000. The firm collaborates with multiple independent recruiters throughout the Unites States and Canada as well as an internal staff of two independent recruiters, four sourcing specialists and administrative support.

The firm has been an integral staffing partner in multiple start ups, outplacement efforts due to plant closings as well as a recruiting resource for most businesses in the Amarillo area as well as nationally for over 30 years. Based on the philosophy of being part of the solution, Professional Search recruiters and staff do not "cold call" companies prospecting for business. We work on the theory that success brings referrals. We must be doing something right because we have been doing it a long time, successfully.

Prior to entering the recruiting field, Ms. McCartt was Business Manager at KFDA-TV Channel 10 for several years. In addition to Business Manager responsibilities, she wrote advertising copy, did live commercials and voice over announcing for commercials.

Sandra is a certified animal cruelty investigator in the state of Texas. She works closely with the Humane Society and ASPCA, investigating equine cruelty complaints and is certified to testify in court as the "lawyer for the horse". She owns and trains six trick horses and one nasty little pony, taking them to children’s groups, nursing homes and hospitals to bring a smile to those who love horses and need a smile.

Ms. McCartt attended the University of Arizona, Tucson majoring in journalism. West Texas A & M University with double majors in accounting and Animal Science/Equine Option.
